For Partners
Couples Therapy
For two people who keep having the same argument, or who have drifted and want to understand why.
Recurring patterns
The fight is rarely about the dishes.
Couples often come in describing a loop: one person pursues, the other withdraws; small things become large; the same hurt surfaces in new forms. In couples therapy, Rebecca helps both partners slow the loop down and see what each person is feeling and protecting.
Many of these patterns are older than the relationship. Understanding where they come from can make it easier to respond to each other differently.
After a change
Finding each other again

A new baby, children leaving, retirement, illness, a move or a loss can reshape a relationship. Partners who were a good team in one stage of life can find themselves out of step in the next. Therapy can be a place to talk about what each of you needs now.
Couples therapy does not promise a particular result. Some couples find their way back to closeness; some get clearer about a different path. The aim is to understand what is happening between you so the choices you make are your own.
Making Room for Two Perspectives
Both partners bring an experience of the relationship. Rebecca makes space for each perspective, including where your accounts differ. The conversation is not about deciding whose experience counts. It is about understanding what each of you is trying to express and how you hear one another, especially when a familiar pattern makes that difficult.
Goals are set together, with room for both of you to describe what you want from the work. During a rough patch or after a life change, those goals may include working toward more constructive dialogue and understanding each other. They are aims to explore together, not promised results or an expectation that both partners must see everything the same way.
