Questions Before Starting Therapy

You can ask about the person, the process, and the practical details before deciding whether to begin.

What is Rebecca's role?

Rebecca Victor uses the credential LP-D and is a licensed psychoanalyst. Her work includes psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, as well as brainspotting within her stated practice. These terms describe different aspects of her work; they do not mean that every person will use every approach. Ask how she would discuss options with you and how a treatment decision is made.

Who can ask about the practice?

Women in midlife are a central audience, and the practice is not limited to women. Men wanting to understand relationships or changes in their lives can ask about individual work. Couples and self-motivated mature adolescents are also part of the existing practice scope. A consultation is still needed to discuss individual fit and whether the care you are seeking is within the practice's services.

What happens before the first session?

The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. Rebecca prefers to discuss fit and arrange times directly. If you agree to try working together, she can explain the next steps and the practice's administrative process. TherapyNotes remains the practice system. No clinical onboarding or payment details are requested before that mutual decision.

What should I ask about cost and time?

The practice is private pay. Ask for current fees, session arrangements, and any documentation you may need for your own insurance questions. Reimbursement cannot be assumed. Frequency and length of therapy are discussed with Rebecca rather than promised as a fixed package. You can also ask how you will talk about the work if your circumstances or priorities change.

How private is the first message?

Keep a website or ordinary email inquiry brief. Avoid detailed health information, medical records, or payment details in that message. Ask which channel is appropriate if more information is needed. Visiting the site does not create a therapist-client relationship, and the practice is not an emergency service.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to complete intake before we talk?
No. Rebecca confirmed that onboarding comes after you agree to try working together.
Can I ask about brainspotting without choosing it?
Yes. You can ask how it fits her work and discuss whether any approach is appropriate for you.
