Body Changes and Identity in Midlife
Changes in the body during midlife can stir up feelings about age, attractiveness, health, and time.
More than a physical change
Shifts in energy, sleep, appearance, or health can affect how you see yourself and how you believe others see you. Some people feel grief, some feel freedom, and many feel a mix that is hard to put into words.
Medical questions belong with medical providers
Therapy is not a substitute for medical care. If you are experiencing physical symptoms, a physician or other qualified provider is the right person to evaluate them. Therapy can sit alongside that care as a place for the emotional side of the experience.
Room for the feelings
In sessions you can talk about what these changes mean to you, including old messages about bodies, aging, and worth that may resurface. Looking at them with curiosity can loosen their grip.
Starting when you are ready
A free 15-minute consultation is a place to ask about fit and practical arrangements. Onboarding happens only after you both agree to try working together.
